The Forest Ecopreneurs Demo Day, the Final Pitching and Showcase Event of Bhutan’s first edition of the SAFE Incubation Program on 26 September 2025. This event marked the culmination of six months of intensive mentorship, business development support, and technical guidance, enabling entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into innovative, sustainable, and socially impactful ventures.
From the 15 participants in the cohort, 8 entrepreneurs presented their solutions, showcasing diverse innovations, including forest-friendly products, circular economy solutions, climate-resilient technologies, and nature-based approaches. The presentations highlighted the participants’ creativity, problem-solving skills, and commitment to advancing sustainable livelihoods and forest conservation in Bhutan.
Special congratulations to Ugyen Tshering, founder of Pure Bhutan, who secured first place for demonstrating outstanding innovation and potential impact!
The event brought together a wide range of stakeholders from key institutions such as the UN Resident Coordinator’s Office (UNRCO); the Department of Forest and Park Services (DoFPS); the Department of Agriculture and Marketing Cooperatives (DAMC); the National Biodiversity Centre (NBC) and many more, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment for the participants.
The SAFE project, of which the incubation program is a part, is a regional initiative implemented in Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Bhutan, powered by the Korea Forest Service, organized by UNEP, regionally implemented by Bridge for Billions, and nationally implemented by the Loden Foundation in Bhutan.
While the Demo Day marks the end of the incubation program, it celebrates the incredible journey of the participants, their creativity, perseverance, and impact-driven ideas. We wish all the entrepreneurs the very best as they continue to grow their ventures, contribute to sustainable development, and advance Bhutan’s green transition.
