NoMind — The AI Engineering Company is Bhutan’s first AI engineering firm, founded in 2022 by Ugyen Dendup at Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology. The company designs, builds, and deploys bespoke AI-powered software for enterprises and government institutions across Bhutan and the region. Unlike template-based solutions or chatbots, NoMind delivers real AI systems, developed and maintained by a team permanently based in Bhutan.

What began as a student project in a college dorm room after winning a national hackathon has grown into the country’s only local AI engineering company. Today, NoMind operates seven live systems embedded within critical organisations and has served eight enterprise clients, including Bank of Bhutan, Bhutan National Bank, Bhutan Development Bank, Drukair, Bhutan Airlines, Bhutan NDI, the Department of Labour, and the National Land Commission.

NoMind’s expertise spans four core areas. It develops custom AI software tailored to each client’s operational needs, ensuring every engagement results in deployed, working systems. It builds enterprise AI agents that integrate seamlessly with legacy infrastructure to manage operations, service delivery, compliance, and complex workflows. It supports government digital transformation by moving agencies from paper-based processes to AI-native service delivery, including citizen portals, intelligent search, and secure on-premise deployments. Finally, it provides AI strategy and consulting, offering readiness audits, opportunity mapping, and implementation roadmaps that always culminate in tangible solutions.

The company’s track record reflects its impact. In 2025 alone, NoMind’s deployed systems resolved 725,496 queries for 140,280 customers — a 402% increase in volume compared to the previous year. Engagement depth rose from 1.43 interactions per customer in 2024 to 5.17 in 2025, demonstrating how deeply its systems have become embedded in institutional workflows.

NoMind has been recognised internationally, with coverage by Bloomberg and Rest of World as Bhutan’s first AI startup. It participated in Entrepreneur First Bangalore, one of the world’s most selective deep-tech founder programmes, and has represented Bhutan’s private sector at the AI Impact Summit, the Global Technology Summit in New Delhi, and the Global South-South Collaboration in AI dialogue hosted by Carnegie India, the Observer Research Foundation, and the Gates Foundation.
