Toe-Tsha Production Unit, based in Jalikhar, Bumthang, is a dynamic food enterprise founded by Chencho Wangdi. With over a decade of experience in the construction industry and five years in nationwide trading and marketing, Chencho identified a critical gap in connecting Bhutan’s diverse local products — textiles, crafts, grains, and traditional foods — to broader markets. His entrepreneurial journey began by sourcing and distributing regional products across the country, eventually building his own marketing team and channels.

Recognizing the strong demand for traditional foods such as Jangbalay and Puta from Chumey, Bumthang, Chencho transitioned into production when supply could not meet market needs. Today, Toe-Tsha Production Unit produces 100 packets (500g) daily, with new machinery enabling expansion to 500 packets per day from July 2026. The enterprise is committed to preserving Bhutan’s culinary heritage while introducing modern production standards that ensure affordability, hygiene, and nutritional value.
