Jigme Seldon manages one of Bhutan’s oldest agro processing units, the Fruit Processing Unit in Batpalathang, Bumthang, renowned for its premium apple based products. Established in 1979 under the Swiss Development Agency’s Rural Development Project and originally led by Swiss food technologist Mr. Fritz Maurer, the facility has been a cornerstone of Bumthang’s agro-industry for decades.

Privatized in 1991, the factory has remained a family run business and is now under Mrs. Seldon's capable leadership. Today, she is spearheading a modernization effort aimed at upgrading the plant’s equipment, doubling production capacity, and enhancing efficiency while staying true to the legacy of Swiss-Bhutanese quality and tradition.
