Party for Loden draws New York crowd
September 10, 2009 - A cocktail party was held in New York in support of the Loden Foundation. The party was hosted by Caroline Trowbridge at her family house in Manhattan with the aim of raising funds for the Loden Knowledge Base, a learning centre which is being set up in Thimphu. The learning centre will provide access to a collection of books and online resources on higher education and entrepreneurship.Carrie is a college friend of Karma Phuntsho and a friend of Bhutan. She organized the party with the help of her family, friends and four Bhutanese residents, Kinley Om, Tshering Lhamo, Tshering and Pema Tenzin. The crowd had a taste of Bhutanese food and music including Ema datsi and the party raised over $3000 for Loden. A small variety of Bhutanese artefacts were also auctioned at the party.
