More applicants compete for the LEP loan in 2009
Following the call for application to seed business fund, the Loden Foundation received 84 business applications this year from aspiring Bhutanese entrepreneurs. The applicants include 62 men and 22 women from a wide range of backgrounds.
"The variety of innovative ideas contained in the applications indicate that the Bhutanese people are increasingly turning toward the private sector for employment", says Loden's co-ordinator, Dorji Tashi.
The board of Loden Entrepreneurship Programme will now appoint judges to do a careful study of each application and shortlist twenty five candidates by the third week of October. The Foundation hopes to fund 10 different projects this year in different parts of the country.
