Loden plans to hold its first LEP training in Mongar in November
In September, over 120 aspiring applicants with wide range of educational background applied for the Loden Entrepreneurship Programme. Loden has already provided funds to 16 young entrepreneurs in 2008 and 2009 and plans to provide in 2010 interest free seed money for about 10 to 12 new entrepreneurs. Selection will be based on projects which are most sustainable, create employment and respect ethical values. The business proposals have been reviewed by the LEP jury consisting of both international and local business professionals. The preliminary selection was held on 16 October, 2010 and shortlisted about 27 aspiring applicants which will be called for the final round of interview on 4, 5 and 6 November,2010 in the office of Loden in Timphu. The award for the winners will be announced on 6 November,2010.
Furthermore, the Loden Foundation is organizing a two day entrepreneurship crash course in Mongar on 15-16 November, 2010. It is its very first entrepreneurship training program in Eastern Bhutan. Loden conducted three successful training workshops in Thimphu since 2008 for the young Bhutanese men and women and plans to conduct similar training workshop in the eastern part of Bhutan from this year depending on the number of interested participants. The participants will be trained by a strong pool of resource persons comprising of both international and local business experts on the basic aspects of entrepreneurship like developing business proposal, financial management, operations and marketing, sales and etc. The young entrepreneurs willing to start up their own business ventures or those who already have a business are invited to participate in this programme. Loden is expecting about 50 or more of interested candidates in its training programme.
